ABOUT US
We help purpose-driven organisations navigate complexity, uncover opportunities, and create lasting impact.

Why the name?
At the heart of Carmen & Co Consulting is a story of curiosity, exploration, and discovery. Our founder, as a child, was captivated by the iconic game, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? She would spend hours at school playing, her imagination sparked by the game’s thrilling chase across countries and cultures. This passion for uncovering the world around her led to a lifelong journey of exploration.
Over the next 24 years, she traveled and worked around Australia and the globe, immersing herself in different cultures, navigating diverse landscapes, and solving complex challenges in a wide range of organisations and environments; always dedicated to social impact. Like Carmen, our work is rooted in curiosity, driven by the need to:
- Solve complex challenges in the nonprofit and business world.
- Support people & communities in building sustainable, impactful futures.
- Deeply understand how systems and teams work to drive transformational change.
Just as the game took Carmen on a journey of discovery, we approach each project with the same sense of adventure, always seeking to uncover the most effective strategies, innovative solutions, and impactful opportunities for our clients.
We partner with you to explore new possibilities, overcome challenges, and make a meaningful difference—just as Carmen did when solving mysteries around the world.

Client Testimonials

Beth, Philanthropy Coordinator
I had the privilege of working with Kim during my early career as an aspiring fundraiser at Lifeflight Australia, where she served as CEO. Kim's leadership was truly inspiring, not just because of her vision and strategic thinking, but because of her deep commitment to fostering a positive, supportive workplace culture. Kim actively worked towards creating an environment where everyone felt valued and empowered, which made it an absolute pleasure to come to work each day.
Kim’s investment in developing her team, particularly fundraisers like myself, was something I deeply appreciated. She provided mentorship, guidance, and countless opportunities to learn, always taking the time to share her wealth of knowledge and insights into fundraising best practices. Her expertise in the sector is vast, but it’s her ability to make that knowledge accessible and actionable that sets her apart.
Her warmth and approachability made her a natural leader, someone I could turn to for advice and encouragement, no matter the challenge. Kim truly cares about the development of others, recognising strengths and encouraging growth.
Daniel Findley, CEO
One of Kim's most impactful contributions was the development of our Executive Decision Making Process. Her initiative streamlined our decision-making, increasing efficiency and creating a more cohesive executive team. Furthermore, the 'Line Management Lunch and Learn Program' that she designed and launched was a brilliant example of her innovative thinking and dedication to continuous learning.
Kim's tireless efforts to improve our business functions were invaluable. She meticulously documented new policies, workflow processes, and procedures, significantly enhancing our operational efficiencies.
In summary, Kim is an exemplary leader with an unwavering commitment to organisational growth, community development, and the empowerment of our workforce. She was an invaluable asset to our executive team, and I have no doubt that she will continue to make remarkable contributions in her future endeavours. Her presence, intellect, and leadership will be a significant gain for any organisation fortunate enough to secure her services.
Pauline Broomhead, CBE
Kim Sutton has got to be one of the most motivated and consumate professionals in the world of fund development that I have come across. As a Director of the FSI Kim was wholy responsible for the day to day operations of the charity which in the year 2011/12 donated 1.8 million of free services back into the third sector in the UK. Kim was an excellent manager of the team as well as contributing significantly to the creative and innovative way in which the FSI delivers services. Kim was instrumental in the development of our Emerging Executives package. It is not often you come across someone who hits the top bar across the range of activities a director is expected to do - but with Kim you get the whole package and its awsome to see it in operation.
